Talk about a genius move: The Big Bang Theory has quietly promoted the hilarious and very much in-demand Melissa Rauch — a.k.a. Howard’s main squeeze Bernadette — to a series regular.
Although Rauch’s deal doesn’t call for her to appear in every episode (and may or may not continue past this season), the upgrade is a nice vote of confidence for the actress — particularly since Bernadette was only meant to be around for an episode or two.
It also gives producers the security of knowing Rauch — who played Hoyt’s scarily devoted girlfriend in season 3 of True Blood — won’t get poached by another show.

The Big Bang Theory Season 4 Episode 7 The Apology Insuffiency : Penny’s apartment was actually taken down, and there was a swing set in it’s place instead. I wonder if they just really needed the extra space this week, or if that means that we won’t be seeing her apartment for a while.
Kaley had a cute entrance as the cast is introduced at the start of the show… As her name was called, Johnny pushed her out on a tall rolling chair, and she was waving her foot with the cast. (And then Johnny ran back backstage so he could come out for his entrance after Jim’s.) And then when they all went backstage, Kaley hopped along on one foot, and Johnny held her arm to keep her steady. (Simon pushed the empty chair back.)
As previously reported, the episode is called The Apology Insufficiency, and features Eliza Dushku. It also included Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, playing himself.

TORONTO – CBS moving “The Big Bang Theory” to Thursday paid off for broadcaster CTV, which pulled in 3.11 million viewers, the second most-watched ever for a comedy on Canadian TV after the finale of “Friends.”
“Big Bang” delivered a 36% share with A25-54 viewers, according to BBM Canada PPM data, on Thursday night at 8 p.m. in simulcast with its CBS airdate south of the border.
CTV last season had “The Big Bang Theory” on Monday nights, and shifted the comedy to Thursday nights in step with CBS.
The geeky comedy did more than double the audience of Fox’s “Bones” on rival Global Television with 1.74 million total viewers, CTV reported.
At 8:30 p.m., CTV secured 940,000 viewers for the results episode of “So You Think You Can Dance Canada, which will be replaced in a month with “$#*! My Dad Says,” the new William Shatner comedy from CBS.
While her boyfriend Rick Fox is busy “Dancing with the Stars“, Eliza Dushku takes the time to guest star on “The Big Bang Theory“. The “Dollhouse” star is coming to the CBS half-hour series to grill the boys to get an information about Wolowitz.
According to some reports circulating out there, Dushku is assigned by FBI to interrogate people close to Wolowitz so that he could be cleared for a top-level security. This investigation includes questions about Wolowitz’s past and secrets.
Dushku is only signed to one episode so far, which is the seventh. The series officially kicked off the fourth season on September 23 so Dushku’s appearance can be expected in the first week of November.
“The Big Bang Theory” moves from Monday nights to Thursdays, facing stiff competition with other popular series such as NBC’s “Community” and The CW’s “The Vampire Diaries“.
